Ouray, CO

tentative schedule

Famous throughout the world for amazing mountain scenery, the Colorado Rockies are most spectacular in the San Juan Range.  Ouray, Colorado is located in the heart of the San Juan Mountains and is called “The Switzerland of America.” This is where we'll base our adventures from.

Though many think of New England for fall color, the mountain scenery and color in the San Juan Mountains is hard to beat. We'll be photographing sweeping landscapes, reflections in still lakes, streams and waterfalls, leaf covered roads, and whatever else we find.

This is a field workshop, and that's where we'll do the majority of teaching. However, we will try for at least a couple lecture/critique session.

Topics we'll cover include exposure for both film and digital, composition, close up and landscape photography techniques, filter usage, lens choices, and equipment.

We'll also address Photoshop questions including blending two or more exposures to get one well exposed image.
