Here's a fantastic opportunity to photograph both Montana scenery and wildlife. The first part of this workshop will be based out of Kalispell. We'll have morning wildlife photo sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday at Triple "D" with a total of at least five different animals. Thursday morning is reserved as a weather make up day or for the optional opportunity to photograph more animals (at an additional cost). We plan on meeting at 6pm on Monday the 15th at the Triple "D" Game Farm (subject to change) for introductions and orientation. Then we'll start first thing in the morning with our first wildlife model shoot. This time of year will also be prime for babies. We can expect cougar kittens, bobcat kittens, and maybe even more. We'll just have to see what's in store for us. We'll have the use of the conference room at Triple "D" on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons so after lunch we'll gather again for lectures, image sharing, and critiques. Based on our previous experience, you’ll want to have plenty of flash cards or a way to download your images while in the field or between shooting sessions. Things move fast and furious and it’s very easy to shoot 8-12 GBytes of images per day. Click here for more on what to expect on a Triple “D” shoot.

On Thursday, after any morning shoot we may have, we'll move to the east side of Glacier National Park. Here we can take
advantage of some of the spectacular sunrise possibilities this side of the
park offers. We'll also explore the Logan Pass area provided that it's open (you never know nowadays). Some of the subjects we'll encounter include amazing mountain scenery, wildflowers, waterfalls,
mountain goat, bighorn sheep, deer, and possibly black and grizzly bear. Here we'll be able to help you master landscape techniques like hyperfocal focusing. We'll also help you with setting up for multi-image panoramas as well as making separate exposures of scenes for later blending in Photoshop (sometimes called the digital graduated ND filter technique). Flowers could be plentiful and we'll help you further your close up photography skills by demonstrating techniques and some specialized equipment.

Sign up Our goal is to help you
create photographs that are uniquely your own and to help you develop your
own style. Since there are so many opportunities and so many great scenes with easy access, this workshop won’t involve too much hiking. But never fear, we’ll employ other means to exhaust you.
