The slot canyons of northern Arizona have a well deserved reputation of being one of the most spectacular locations on Earth. Everywhere you look, light, lines, shapes, and curves fill the frame. This is one of the most target rich photo environments you'll ever visit.

Tuition includes personalized instruction, slot canyons entrance fees, and guiding fees in Monument Valley. Classroom and image critique sessions will occur as time allows.

We'll meet at 6:00 p.m. at our hotel on the 13th in Page, AZ and spend the next two days photographing in the Page area, mainly in the slot canyons. Other attractions are Lake Powell and the famous Horseshoe Bend of the Colorado River.

We'll spend the rest of this field workshop in  Monument Valley, famed as a backdrop to numerous Westerns, where we've arranged for a native guides to take us to sunrise locations.

There is some challenging walking involved, especially in the slot canyons where it can get narrow and a little steep (it's not called the Corkscrew for nothing), but nothing overly strenuous. There will be a short hike at one of our locations near page and short hikes through sand in Monument Valley but none of these are overly strenuous or difficult.

The workshop will conclude after the morning shoot on Sunday the 18th.

Our goal is to help you create photographs that are uniquely your own and to help you develop your own style. To that end, we’ll be encouraging you to stretch beyond what you’re used to doing and to look for perspectives, angles and compositions that are expressions of your own view of the world.

This is a field workshop, therefore we'll be spending most of the time in the field and that's where we'll do the majority of teaching. Individual critiques/portfolio reviews are available on request. We'll have group critiques and classroom sessions , including Photoshop demos, as time allows, usually during mid-day breaks.

The Price for this field workshop is $895. This price includes guide fees in Monument Valley and Upper Antelope Canyon.
(Entrance fees at the slot canyons --approx. $20-25 per person--are not included.  There is also a $5 per person admission fee to Monument Valley for our non-guided visits.)

A $200 deposit (non-refundable) is required to hold a space with the balance due 60 days prior to the workshop. You will also be asked to sign a Liability Release. Please review our Policies Page before sending any money and for payment instructions.
