This has got to be one of the most interesting and powerful Photoshop books I've
read. Some of it is hard to follow but well worth the ride

An invaluable companion to Adobe's Camera Raw converter
Real World Image Sharpening by Bruce Fraser
Lots of insight into the mysteries of sharpening. Great book
(any of the Real World books will help you)
Photoshop Restoration and Retouching by Katrin Eismann
Well written, informative, and easy to follow.

but its lessons are applicable to any type of photography.
Beyond the Basics and Beyond the Basics II by George Lepp
A collection of great photo techniques. Just fun to read.
The Art of Photographing Nature by Art Wolfe and Martha Hill
A unique concept for a book. Wolfe comments on his images from the perspective
of a photographer while Hill comments from the
perspective of an editor. Very educational.

Ok, so it's not about writing, photography, Photoshop, or anything like that. I
just love that title.

Sweet Jesus I Hate Bill O'Reilly by Joseph Amann & Tom Breuer
Also not about photography, but O'Reilly is such an idiot and this book is just
so funny, that it's on the list.
Fair and Balanced, My Ass! by Joseph Amann & Tom Breuer
Another great book by this duo.
